What is SECURMART TVG (partly tempered glass)
SECURMART TVG (partly tempered glass) is a thermally
hardened,
partially toughened glass. The manufacturing
method is similar to
that of SECURMART ® ESG.
The difference, however, is that after
heating up in the initial forming phase, the glass
panel is cooled far less abruptly in the air shower. The panels are brought to a tension state
that lies between normal float glass and toughened safety glass. Like toughened safety glass,
partly tempered glass cannot be worked on after this process.
Thermally hardened glass is used where the normal bending strength and temperature
resistance of float glass does not suffice. An excellent safety glass is achieved if
SECURMART TVG is processed with PVB film for laminated safety glass.
The following are added advantages:
-
Glass with high bending strength
-
High resistance to temperature differences
-
Good sound insulation values
Advantages
The big advantage of this type of glass is that in the case of violent shattering, the glass -
in combination with laminated safety glass - largely retains its function (improved residual
resistance and residual load).
SECURMART TVG is also available in Germany for general building approval.
