In principle, the GM Railing can also be realised without a handrail although this must be indicated in the order. In Germany, handrails are required with all-glass railings.

The advantages are


• The handrail serves as edge protection;

• In the event of a malfunction of the balustrade elements when overloaded, the handrail is of crucial importance;
• When used outdoors, de-lamination of the laminated glass can occur. A handrail will cover the upper edge of the glass and thereby reduce this risk.
