Go Back

Located between Gebhardsberg, Bregenzer Ache and Lake Constance, the Hotel Schwärzler in Bregenz has been welcoming locals and guests from all over the world since 1905. It has always skilfully combined tradition with modernity. The rooms and suites of the hotel are classically elegant in appearance. Throughout the building, the large-scale use of wood, brown hues and the targeted use of red colour highlights radiate warmth. Recently, the extensive expansion and partial refurbishment of the old building was completed. Not surprisingly, Glas Marte was commissioned with the glazing work once again.

Matt shower glazing
Planned by the Bregenz-based architects Dorner\Matt, a total of 46 rooms were renovated or even rebuilt between December 2018 and May 2019. Glas Marte had already installed shower glazing in the hotel a few years ago. Quality and design were convincing – because we were awarded the contract once again for the current refurbishment and conversion. The tailor-made GM SHOWER GLAZING underlines the modern room concept of the Hotel Schwärzler: The glass showers made of GM TSG SECURMART® toughened safety glass fit into the bathrooms in an unobtrusive manner. Thanks to the lightness of the glass, they do not weigh down the rooms. Treatment with GM SATIMART® has removed the transparency from the glass, the surface of the shower glazing appears matt. This special sealing protects the glass against dirt and chemicals and ensures permanently easy cleaning – a must, especially with highly frequented hotel bathrooms.

Functional eye-catcher
For all the love of design, one must not forget about functionality in detail. The storage space for utensils is often missing in showers. Or it is poorly executed. Glas Marte has developed a special solution for this: GM ISHOWER is mounted flush in the glass wall and fits in elegantly – without holes, screws or protruding elements. Thus there is literally no longer anything standing in the way of the guests and a refreshing shower experience in the well-thought-out new room concept of the Hotel Schwärzler.
